It's about time someone said how bad Portland is!!! I have been saying for years the Portland is one of the miserable cities and I don't know why anyone would live in Portland?

I live in Portland and this SHOCKS me!  Sure we have a lot of cloudy days but most of us deal with it fine.. I've noticed it's all the people who move to Portland from somewhere more sunny that have the hardest time with depression...

Portland still sucks!!!!  The only good thing OR is that they pump your gas for you so that you can drive the hell out there.

I find your comment laughable.  Why do we as Americans need a scapegoat for our problems.  Does this remotely sound familiar?  Nazi Germany and Jews, gays, etc. were so convenient.  Stop spreading the immigration hate crap and use your energy more productively.  By the way, illegal immigrants are propping up our agricultural economies throughout the border states that have them.  Perhaps you can afford to pay more for produce, but most Americans can't right now.

I'm kind of surprised that New Mexico isn't on the list. I've lived here for over a year now and I find it to be the most depressing of all states I've experienced. Not only is crime bad, but the overwhelming climate and lack of kind people is completely disheartening.

I believe who ever wrote this rubbish has never been to Portland, Oregon as I've lived here my whole life and I'll tell you that Portland, Oregon is in fact a smaller city but we have a lot of positive things in this town and for someone to say we are the saddest city in the United States only makes me believe he or she has been huffing paint fumes for so long that they can no long tell happy from sad, So I say to them this, Why don't you come to Portland for our Waterfront Blues Festival (BTW That's what's going on in the picture) and you will find some very happy people enjoying some great music and having a GOOD TIME!

Portland is not as sad as you may think! Why don't you get a real job instead of knocking where people live and trying to bring them down? We are all trying to feel better about things these days & with the economy and world events we don't need nor want your negative crap!  GET A REAL JOB YA NITWIT!
