FIND YOUR DREAM HOME OR APARTMENT
I almost died laughing at these "boat houses". Most of them are boat sheds - made fancy and charging twice as much as a local motel would.
Just shows you how fickle human beings are in that they can't even get a simple boat house correct and yet still have to brag about it. Well chumps have fun looking like fools and idiots with your "boat houses".
There's only four worth mentioning here. This must have been done by a reporter from the big city. For example, #8 is restricted to warm weather only. There aren't any railings! Try that on an icy day.
#5 Wild Florida is made special by the beautiful, year-round setting. It's about 3 miles from my house.
#11 "Extravagant Simplicity" best describes this Texas boathouse. "Best Little Boathouse in Texas!"
#10 Is the Big Winner! I'd pay to tour this one!
As for the others....go fish!
Let me tell you how great it is!. I am a baby boomer and grew up on a boat house at Lake Lanier in Georgia. My father's desires were to keep his three children out of trouble and the family together. He succeeded! With an amazing dream and talent, and hammer in hand, he constructed a boathouse, the first, on Lake Lanier in Georgia. We were like "Huh? what is this, has he gone mad?, and all the neighbors and friends asked the same question. Soon after many people began doing the same thing, building boat houses, asking my dad for his expertise and help. It was the going thing in the early 60's in that part of Georgia. God fearing Christain man that he was, he helped. He blooming invented the boathouse, the pea sheller and many other things. He just failed to patent anything.
Our boathouse contained a living room with sofa beds, a kitchen, a bathroom and a boat well. The front and side porches were screened. Those were the best years of my life, and it kept us out of trouble. My father built our water skiis and we skiied that entire 500 acre shore. It was the life in those days, especially for children. God bless my father, the self made, millionaire, countryboy genuis. Nothing like that now in America-anywhere. If there is, write to me. :)
