I think they need to recheck their numbers.  Midland/Odessa, TX is growing faster than any of those other Texas cities.  The oil boom going on here has people living in tent cities because there aren't enough apartments and rent houses.  It's insane.  Everyone is hiring, but unemployment is like 2%.  Anyone that wants a job here can get one yesterday.

Texas has the greatest racial, cultural, economic and geographic diversity of any state in the USA; and isn't drowning in debt like so many other states are.

 

AND didn't vote for Barak Obama.

Dallas in scarier than NYC where else can you kil a President and cover it up for hald a century but the truth strangely is where one woudl least exspect a Baylor Baptist U in Waco, and the Feds were in control with DQ Hoovers Johnson and Cabells cabal

well they kiled our future by JFK the FED would be gone all interest would go to red baited masters of delusion fox bitten,, no more dying in war oil control stopped, DQ hoover police state gone,  no 9/11, no nuclear to Israel is real, still not unclear...all the way with JFKMLKRFK ,, the Dulles Dalla sassassins killed in a lincolnto go meet Anbraham in the nightmare on Elm street they owe us a 100sextillion by robbing us of  them

Notice that four of these top ten cities are in Texas.  Hmmmmmm.....must be something with the business friendly tax structure of the Lone star state which must be enticing to both business and population growth.

For those of you who are complaining that Texas is boring or that it's hot as hell, etc...we don't care.  We aren't here to entertain you or make you comfortable.  If you don't like the climate or the culture please stay where you are and enjoy sitting on your sofa waiting for your unemployment check to come in the mail.

I've lived in/near several of these cities and I'm not surprised they're growing.  One of Seattle's suburbs (Sammamish) was recently named the friendliest town.  The Pacific Northwest is gorgeous and isn't California, so of course everyone is going to want to live in Seattle/Portland. ;)  Provo and Salt Lake are very family- and business-friendly cities.  And Texas is also very business-friendly (especially Austin, where we currently live.)  Make fun of Texas all you want, but the big cities aren't like stereotypical Southern hick towns.  Half of us aren't originally from the South.  (Thanks for letting us in!)

Where are the cities in the northeast who say here in Texas we are stupid?  I take that back, we are stupid for taking all the people from the northeast moving to Texas.

compare this fastest growing cities list to a best cities to live list.

 which cities would be on both lists?

i'm pretty sure seattle would be on both lists, portland too.

no big surpise on these growth cities and states most all run by Republicans. Wonder how the 10 worst stack up and who runs those cites and states.

MOST OF THOSE PLACES  AREN'T GREAT TO LIVE IN... PORTLAND AND SEATTLE ARE EXPENSIVE AND CAN HAVE SOME ROUGH WINTERS...TEXAS IS HOT, I MEAN 105 IN THE SUMMER IS THE AVERAGE, 110 IN AZ...UTAH IS COLD I MEAN HEAVY COAT EVERYDAY AND DEEP SNOW COLD. RALEIGH IS THE BEST CLIMATE, BUT EVERY BODY LIVES OUT SIDE THE CITY. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CAR THERE AND IF YOU DON'T DRINK OR HAVE KIDS THERE IS NOTHING TO DO THERE FOR SINGLES.

I use to live in Texas 2000-2005 and the reason I left coz I start to drink too much out of boredom.
Texas is human desert. Texas the rednecks state! Stay Away from TEXAS!
