@tagger31 "Crazy", "Lazy", "Democrat". How did you come to these conclusions?  For the record, I have no allegiance to any party. My record of voting verifies that; I vote for the man or woman whom I feel most qualified...not along party lines. Partisan attitudes like yours see their party as the solution and allows no collaboration of ideas and cooperative thought. Take a look at Washington now if you think this is hogwash. And what was it that angered you so much to stoop down to name calling?  You don't like lesbians? Or was it the possibility of Texas being a blue state? Again...the facts are that in Texas' largest cities, democrats govern. If these cities continue to grow, Texas could become a blue state. Not a communist nor socialist state...just a Democratic state. Give credit where it's due and let go of the partisan elitistism.

One thing for sure we all can see. We have no modernising going on like Japan, China and some other countries that are building high speed trains and mona-rails. Pres Oboma talked about building a cross country high speed mono-rail system but I haven't seen anything from that like former Presedents that have started nation wide jobs to promote prosperity.

We have more and more planes poluting the skys every day along with more and more fancy fighter jets and military equipment than any other country, but we can't build and improve our infertructure. Any city can pave streets and lie about the cost when they already have employment and equipment to do the job, but they can't creat more jobs or modernise because they have no money. What's wrong with that picture?

What about flood control updates like other countries to save peoples homes and land?

This country has big biz moving out and top biz owners taking the money with them. Even face books money is in other countries. I wouldn't promote that money grabing, over rated trash site for love of money. People spend to much time yapping and laughing on facebook.

People vote with their feet.  Business friendly, lower taxes.  The only reason San Jose is on the list is because of the tech industry.  Take that away, and they would be like every other city in the decaying, dying state of California with it's high taxes and regulations.  Socialism doesn't work, it has to be forced upon the people.

gray eagle.....so what state are you poluting and trashing now ?
May 14, 2012 6:21AM
It's a dam shame that we have a bunch of anti american jerks in washington who are really screwing this one time great nation into something that our forefathers would not know.

@abovethehype__ Obiousy you are a crazy democrat that believes all is begins and ends with the color blue. I am from Seattle and even I kow that the rest of America would have to become blue before Texas... And then, only maybe, if enough of you can hold your rediculous protests and beg for change throught the state would the people of Texas still laugh your lazy azz'z out of the state. People work hard and still believe in the meaning of a handshake which is hard to come by these days. Keep your eyes on blue New York.

At one time back in 1984 I started a business in Ca. after 3years went very well until the state of Ca got greedy and started raising  my taxes, my business license, and hassling me with environmental issues, so I left and I don't regret it one bit.

Every one of the Texas cities mentioned is governed by a Democrat mayor, and most have been for some years. And to throw some fuel on the evangelical fire...Houston's mayor is a lesbian.  Another fact...the cumulative count of Fortune 500 companies are in these democrat-run cities. I believe Texas is second only to CA for the most Fortune 500 companies.  Here's the kicker...if these urban areas continue to grow as this article purports, then Texas becomes a blue state.  My point is this..Texas isn't the bastion of conservatism some think it is. It's a hybrid of economic and social policies that have adapted within the dynamic of the city. Both conservative and liberal policies can co-exist within the same framework to promote economic growth and build the middle class. Way to go Texas!

California is ridiculous. I have lived out there for 4 years and couldnt WAIT to get out. The people have destroyed that stae with their liberal beliefs and policies. I am happy to be back in Texas now where business is great and I am not getting taxed to death. The only problem I have is I see more and more Califrnians moving here... and they will surely try and press the same policies that destroyed California. maybe they shoudl stay there and fix their mess... not create another one.

I lived in California for 7 months while working on a major project.  I could not believe how long (and how much $) it would take (and cost) to get all the permits necessary to build a new facility -- for a company that spends $45,000,000 within a three hour radius of a small town.  These morons in Santa Barbara County are essentially using laws and regulations as a means of "legal extortion."  It is no wonder why the State of California is in financial distress - and corruption abounds.   This company will spend $5,000,000+ over the next 4 to 6 years to have studies performed to tell them what everyone already knows.  And, the top state tax for its' highest earners is %10.3 and the taxes on gasoline.....then the average Joe and Jane are told it is the evil oil/gas companies driving up prices at the pump.  Morons.

america i so corrupt, it doesnt matter where you live, from people having 1% lifestyles to the more common blue collar worker, im sad for america's lost virtue where terrorists can bomb our towers and we go out to reign in the terrorists that caused our heart ache of the many lives since then, goverment waiving rights for civillians of our country and many others since 911, roughly half including the wars overseas, involving many nations and over 10 years of war and many billions of dollars, but for the most part look the other way for someone like kony that deals in death and slave trade, and actually killed many times more that 9/11, still out walking around slaying villages and worse, more than likey has ties with local terrorists in that part of the world. Now because of wasted funds funding the war, some in the billions on fraud and wasted military projects. our already strained ecconomy will be worse when our friends and family come back from overseas, with a almost depleted SS and other funds drying and the goverment sending our jobs overseas, they had a very short oversight on our military coming without funds and planning, we will end up with a worse ecconomy, higher living rates with lower wages, forcing more crime and etc. that follows those lines. So now, it doesnt matter where some of the best places in the US are, where ever people move for good jobs, there will still be the negative influince that goes with good. i figure if they started to build enviromentaly safe cities from scratch, with better methods of travel than cars. Overall, less deaths from accidents, nobody feeling the pinch from outragous gas and food gouging, lowering crimes and violence making an overall better enviroment for our future chilldren. Other countries have envisioned ahead and are building these cities overseas with great planning and consideration for their and their children's future. American goverment should have already have started years ago with a great boost to ecconomy and many thousands, if not hundred of thousands of jobs for our future. America cannot survive like this with the greed and corruption. Help make a change!
