An older and successful man doesn't necessarily equate to a wonderful, warm, attentive,sensitive,​ loving man.  Many successful men are self centered, self possessed, and intolerant of others short comings. They usually are very demanding and controlling, which is why many of them end up single later in life, because the former wife / wives were fed up.
Many older men who are also wealthy are not very generous. They often enough are very tight with their bank accounts. They are also wise to the woman who is after them because they have money. A rich man who is stupid doesn't stay rich very long!
The fantasy of finding an older, wiser, financially well off man who is an easy catch and will end up being the perfect mate for some younger honey is mostly the stuff of Hollywood movies...
There are many single middle aged women who still look good, are sexually needy, and lonely. They end up having to compete with some of the younger hotties who also want to find a guy with a great steady income that will afford them affluent lifestyles. In essence, Gold Diggers!
NO SMART WOMAN wants to be married to the local character-bad boy and low wage earner. There's plenty of cute, charming and horny losers. Too many in fact. Women who fall for these guys and end having multiple children with them have sold themselves short. Most aren't all that bright themselves.
The older man who is successful and finds himself divorced, then deciding it is time to have some young arm candy and a new Mercedes SL convertible is having a mid to later life identity crisis. It never ends well for either of them.
Very few men age well... thus becoming more in-tune to the needs of a woman. Most males develop their attitudes and relational understandings by the time they are 14 and 15 years old, and it rarely changes after that.  Women on the other hand will steadily evolve emotionally as they age.
Every ten years or so, she will re-evaluate herself and what she wants to change. This can lead to some every intense discussions with her man. Usually she will demand more from him across many fronts. More quality time, more time with the kids, more time spent helping her out, more time spent with family, the list goes on. She may also want more time just for herself...alone!
Many older men will say they understand women better than a young man, but most of it is just arrogance attached to a puffed up self image as a "player and competitor." ALL MEN think they are great lovers! Very few are. Most men will say they KNOW women too... Yet if you ask any woman whether or not guys really "GET THEM" they will answer, "Not at all!"
Dating sites that cater to older singles will often be awash with men who will post glowing accolades about themselves. The will use all the buzz words and phrases to paint a self portrait that no woman should be able to resist. It is a ruse to get laid. Not much else.
