apparently you've not investigated who deregulated the home morgage industry--chris dodd, barney frank, and bill clinton--when in the 90's they forced freddie & fannie to reduce their lending standards and increase their purchase of bundled morgages from counrtywide and the like--perhaps that is why dodd got 1 1/2% below market off his morgage from counrtywide

As mortgage defaults skyrocketed the past few years, some of the biggest lenders appear to have cut corners in their haste to process thousands of foreclosure documents.
