Why do people believe that Realtors are experts when it comes to marketing? Ever gone to a grocery store, picked up a can, and the label said; If you want to know what’s in this can, call this number? No? That’s because it doesn’t work.
You can do better!

Realtor's do a HORRIBLE job of taking photos. They do not take pictures of the correct things. For the most part a bedroom is a bedroom - four walls with a closet and a window or two. The SIZE of the bedrooms is the real information needed. The unique things in a house that vary widely are the basement, garage and the kitchen. These are the parts of the house that are NEVER accurately depicted. A lot of my time has been wasted going to look at a house with a "basement" only to discover it's USELESS. If accurate pictures where provided, half of the house I've seen in person I NEVER wouldn't have wasted my time, and MY realtors time, with.

The total lack of COMMON SENSE amazes me.

Uploading high quality clear pictures to your listings is very crucial. Do not rely upon the ordinary camera for clicking the pictures. Always click the pictures with high resolution camera so that you can pass a good message about your property to the potential buyers. You may also take the help of a professional photographer.

Every idiot with a cell phone camera is now a self proclaimed "professional" photographer.
The advent of digital destroyed the professional photography industry.

And now you have to suffer the terrible photographs made by those "photographers".

No one wants to take the time to do things properly anymore.

We are in the age of "good enough" where poor quality is good enough.

I laugh at the pictures being taken by SOME photographers.

Some are so far out of focus, your eyes hurt. And it is impossible to stand in the doorway of the bedroom, and snap a picture that gives any perspective of what the room looks like. I see two walls meeting at a 90 degree angle.

If I listed a house with an agent, and the pictures turned out the way they do, I would fire the agent on the spot.

I wish the pictures would show the properties rather than the owners possessions, I would like to see the size of the bedroom not your bedroom set, what are you trying to hide?  Are there stains on the carpets, or holes in the walls behind those drapes? I would love to see the footprint of the living room and not your giant flat screen. Show me the condition of the bathroom fixtures  and kitchen cabinets.  I would rather see the bad points in a photo, I know what ever I buy will have some things that I want to change.  Its a waste of my time thinking that I'm looking at a property that looks nicely decorated just to find out the decorations are covering up some expensive fixes.

I've been in real estate for over 15 years and recently lived in Utah for  1 1/2 years.  Thus far, Utah is the WORST for RE photos and work ethics.  I wish the consumers would look on line to see how their agents are representing their homes.  I have never, never seen such horrible photos.  You want to see the master bath, there's a picture of the door, guest bath, pic of the paper towel holder, seriously awful.  Then…..trying calling your agent…you are not going to get him or her…just text.  Don't call after 5 or 6 pm and you are the devil if you expect them to work Sunday.  By Friday afternoon…forget it…they don't work.   Extremely unprofessional!!

On the other hand, you're buying a house, not the photographic ability of some real estate agent. Don't pass something up just because the photos aren't that great. Likewise, don't think you're getting a gem just because the photos look great. I've appraised thousands of houses and have seen pure junk look good in MLS and have seen wonderful houses that don't look so great in MLS. Use your little cell phone brains for something besides looking at a screen and go look at the house.

And when you put together a slide show for the web, make sure the VCR buttons are visible with the slides, so people will be able to figure out that it is a slide show.

I am just getting into the market to buy my first home when our lease ends in March. I complain about this to my girlfriend daily haha. I can't imagine how these people think their home will sell this way.

And when you show a picture of the bathroom, make sure the toilet seat is down!
