Hi my name is Mike with Mikes Remodeling. pascobuildingremodel​ers.com.  You stated that you should make payment draws after the job phase is completed. which means that i have to pay out of my pocket until the homeowner pays me back. That wont work. I require a third deposit. when i reach 50% completion then i should have atleast 75% of the contract draw at that time. leaveing 25% to be abtained at the 75% mark, i do believe that the homeonwer should hold the last 10 percent for 30 days, but nothing more. thanks Mike

Anyone trying to decide between moving themselves long distance or "calling the guy" should start with determining just how much stuff they have. There are easy to use charts called "cube sheets" that can be downloaded for free online. These provide the average cubic feet (size) for all different types of furniture. They are broken down into rooms for a quick and easy inventory that allows you to calculate how much room in the truck your shipment will take.
As an example; if you are looking at renting a 16' truck that has 850 cubic feet of cargo space but your cube sheet says you have 1,000 cubic feet of stuff, you will know that you either need a bigger truck or you need to lose a few things. This is the exact system that professional moving company estimators use. They multiply the total cubic feet by an average density (weight) of 6.5 -7lbs per cubic foot to arrive at a weight estimate.
