Jessica Simpson has parted ways with her shaded oasis in the 90210.

Simpson, who welcomed the birth of her second child, Ace Knute Johnson, in September, paid $5.275 million for the ivy-clad retreat in 2005. The home came to market with a price tag of $7.995 million in May and was offered for $7.295 million in August. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, however, the Hamptons-inspired home sold for nearly $900,000 less -- $6.4 million.

The actress-singer purchased the Beverly Hills, Calif., estate shortly after her divorce from Nick Lachey. Prior to Simpson’s stay, the property was previously owned by a number of other noted celebrities. Ellen DeGeneres bought the home in 2001 and later sold it to Rick Yorn, manager to Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz, in 2003.

Built in 1991, the celebrity dwelling offers a total of five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths and 5,500 square feet of living space.

The interior received a number of updates at the hands of Rachel Ashwell, of Shabby Chic Couture, and features vaulted ceilings, dark hardwood floors and a beautiful country-modern kitchen.

Outside, a stone courtyard sits adjacent to a tranquil koi pond and pool.

Simpson listed the Beverly Hills home shortly after shelling out $11.5 million to buy a mansion in Hidden Hills, Calif. Formerly owned by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Simpson’s new property spans nearly 11,000 square feet, with a total of six bedrooms and six bathrooms. The Osbournes paid $12.4 million for the home in 2007.

MSN - please cull out any "news" you have on celebrity homes sales and/or property details . . . they are less than informative to substantive real estate news. At least put it under a real estate tab of its own, or better yet catagorize it as entertainment.  Real estate news should be for financial and buy/sale trends, not diversion and amusement. . . particularly if I won't have to read some comment about seeing a "star's" tits.

I was hopping to see her huge tits. But nope all I saw was a home that is ugly from the outside and grass by the pool that was nasty. what a waste of money to buy a home for millions when you could get a better house with much cheaper price someplace else. But cmon I wanted to see her huge juggs

talk about parlaying a "flash-in-the pan type" career and turning it into a multi-million dollar business...Jessica Simpson, Inc.  Her brands are popular and sell.

She is also  very likeable as one of the judge/mentors  on that NBC reality program..Next New Designer  competition.

She still got a pretty penny for that pretty house...I wish her well. Shes smart, very attractive, and has a decent head on her shoulders (not like many women in hollywood).

Amusing how these "celebrities" buy a house, live in it for a couple of years, then - thinking it has gone up in value because they graced it with their presence - list it for several million $$ more than they bought it for......only to be brought back to reality when they are forced to sell it at a loss.

She might have been a mediocre singer back in the day but she is currently making millions as a designer.  Producing TV shows isn't hurting her pocketbook either.  Whether you love her or hate her, the girl knows how to diversify.

Sweet.  I wish her well.  She is a great mother, actress and woman.  Unlike a few others hangin around hollyweird.

I'm buying a nice, cheap mobile home and I'll bet I will be as happy in it as Jessica Simpson is in her mansion.

Being owned by an entertainer or agent is just as good as saying "No Thanks - I'll Pass".
