Geezerette is totally correct. And no better word describes it than "obscene."
It's not about working hard at producing something good for society to
get a $multi-million mansion, it's fleecing others with a gimmick or
gaming the system, or pushing paper around....
Happily ever after: Homes of celebrity couples
By Colleen Kane of CNBC
CNBC's third annual collection of homes of celebrity couples includes the over-the-top rental mansion of a power couple whose Florida home was previously on this list. At least two of the following homes belonged to other famous people before these couples moved in, and at least three of these couples have also played couples onscreen. Click ahead to see the houses, which range from a young couple's $2.5 million "starter" to a $43.5 million megamansion.

Emma Stone, star of "The Help," and her gentleman friend and co-star from "The Amazing Spider-Man," Andrew Garfield, are cohabiting in this private gated home in Beverly Hills, which they picked up for $2.5 million. It is the former home of late comic actor Dudley Moore.
It has loads of light from old-fashioned-looking multipaned windows, especially in the double-height living room, and there's a patio terrace area with swimming pool.

Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka
Location: Los Angeles
Price: $3 million
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: Not available
Square footage: 9,000
Jason Bateman, star of the cult television hit "Arrested Development" and comic film roles such as "Horrible Bosses," and wife Amanda Anka, who was in "Lost Highway" and is the daughter of Paul Anka, recently bought this country-English-style compound formerly belonging to the late actor Ernest Borgnine.
Borgnine made the compound his personal headquarters for six decades until his death last year. Some of the interiors are dated, particularly the lattice-crazed master bath and dressing area, but the house is still a beauty with mountain and city views.

The megamansion, built by Hamptons developer Joe Farrell on 11.5 acres, has a lot going on, including a heated granite pool with an underwater stereo and a master suite with 2,800 square feet. The lowest of the home’s three levels is the Air Lounge, with a futuristic two-lane bowling alley, full bar and disco, rock-climbing wall and full spa. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell
Location: Malibu, Calif.
Value: $9.95 million
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 5
Square footage: 4,300
Long-term lovebird actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell had offered their Balinese-styled getaway home on celebrity-studded Broad Beach for rent in the summers for $95,000 a month. Later in 2010, they offered it for sale for $14.75 million or for rent for $80,000 a month. Last fall brought another price cut to $9.95 million. It is no longer on the market, and no record of sale is available.
The home includes three suites — the master bath has a Chinese onyx spa-inspired bath — a media room, a designer kitchen, a guest house and a workout room.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne
Location: Hidden Hills, Calif.
Price: $12.999 million
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 10
Square footage: 11,000
Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne and his television-personality wife, Sharon, were trying to sell this property before offering it as a rental for $50,000 a month. The mansion in the celebrity-packed, gated community of Hidden Hills was featured in Architectural Digest and was decorated by interior designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard. The home has travertine flooring, a guest apartment and a formal dining room where the buyers can feast on whatever winged beasts they fancy, whether it's turkey, chicken, dove or bat. The terrace features a pool and spa, barbecue island, commode and outdoor shower.
The Osbournes have been active in real estate in recent years. A beach house on the market just about 15 miles away in Malibu sold last spring. One of their former homes, a pink house in Beverly Hills — familiar to viewers of their reality TV series — has been on the market for years.
