I believe the NCAA should put a cap on what a university can pay a coach. When the highest paid employee of a state is usually a college basketball or football coach it's nuts. Now before people start going off about free enterprise these coaches make out like bandits on their endorsements and speaking engagements. Not to mention when they get fired with time left on their contracts all the money they get from that. Yep the NCAA wants to dictate everything then they should dictate coaches salaries also.
I wonder what the Dean of Harvard business school, the Dean of Harvard school of Pharmacology, the Dean of Harvard law, the Dean of Harvard medical, The Deans of all the Ivy League colleges,The Dean of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and many other colleges that emphasize learning what price of homes their Deans can afford to live in. The Ivy league schools have football programs as an after thought. They don't make money for these schools, they actually lose money when all expense factors are added to the bottom line. MIT does not even field a football team. Look at the graduation rate of the above schools and compare to the football powers and you will be amazed at the ratio. Even better, look at the IQ scores of the students of these schools and really be amazed. College is for learning and when student loans exceed a trillion dollars, what are really getting for your money. A Harvard, MIT ar any Ivy league school degree is the door opener for your lifelong earning power. Just think what Harvard does with the income from their endowment fund which exceeds twenty five billion dollars every year.
