I like my peace and quiet. If buying a house meant that I had to purchase the graveyard next to it,  wouldn't bother me. I could not ask for quieter neighbors. No loud teenagers, thumping stereos, marital disputes, association gripes, cups of sugar, and I would never have to pick up empty beer cans/bottles and cigarette butts. Conversations with my neighbors would always turn out the way I wanted them to. And on the flip side, If I wanted to drink, smoke and dance around my backyard in my undies... They aint sayin nothin'!

This has happened near me.  The private graveyard was given right-of-way access and was not sold.  I don't think you should own a graveyard.   It should be put into a trust to pay for upkeep.  Not sure about the legal rights which probably vary depending on each state.

I feel a draft ! Oh it was my central heat . OH ! OH ! I felt something touch my leg! It was just my cat. How can anyone believe  in ghosts? The world is also flat and the Earth is the center of the universe Aliens told me that.

There is definitely a man standing on the porch at the corner, be alive or a ghost, it is there!

I think this seems like a neat concept, recognizing that the property use to belong to someone else, and now it belongs to you.. and someday it will belong to someone else..

I wouldn't hesistate too much to move toa place with the previous owners buried there, hell I may even plan to be buried next to them!

'Tis not the dead we need to fear, my dear, nor their resting places, but those among the living who intend to do us harm.

"A man behind the tree?"  I don't see anything.

Can you be more precise as to where he is supposed to be?

Peace,

OHD

I've been living 12 years with a grave yard in my back yard. I've got an agreement with those buried there; I keep there graves neat and clean and they leave me alone. Really, they make good neighbors they're very inconspicuous  and quiet. I love em !!!

I grew up in a beautiful, modern, 3000 sq ft hilltop home, that was next to a pioneer cemetery. One large oak tree dominated the middle of the plots and graves from 1859  covered the 30 acres out our back door. Memorial Day and Halloween aside, we enjoyed our very quiet neighbors.Smile
