Don't pick up your leaves.  Mulch them with your lawn mower so they add fertilizer to your lawn, rake them into the vegetable garden to decompose over the winter then till them in to the soil, or use to protect the root ball of some of your more delicate plantings.  Look at leaves as mother nature's gift to the gardener rather than a hassle to deal with every fall.  Visit www.homeandgardenwelcome.com for other ways to spend your gardening time rather than raking. http://www.homeandgardenwelcome.com

Great tips! I never cleaned up the old leaves from fall. I think I have put it off a bit too long. I want to get started on my garden, so I need to clear away all the debris from the yard. I already have my flower seeds ready to go! I also have a couple of garden gnomes to put out!

I have to say these don't seem to solve the real problem I have which is getting the leaves into the garbage bag which our town now requires!  For this check out the LeafTaco at www.buyleaftaco.com  This thing has a great name, but even more impressive is how easy it makes it to bag leaves!
