MSN Real Estate collaborated with partner Realtor.com to highlight properties available for about $200,000 in 12 cities around the U.S. All properties are within their respective metro areas, except where noted.

“Lincoln Park has proven to be one of most resilient and active neighborhoods in Chicago due to its proximity to downtown, neighborhood amenities and excellent schools,” listing agent Becky Meiselman says.

This updated 560-square-foot studio in the Hollywood Regis condominium complex is a few blocks from Hollywood Boulevard and has a fireplace and a private balcony. The sleeping area includes a walk-in closet with built-in shelves and drawers. The bathroom has stone-tiled walls and a tub with glass doors. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, and a washer and dryer are included in the unit.
“The current owner bought this studio unit for $350,000 in 2007,” says listing agent Daysi Jarquin. “In this area, home values have dropped 20% to 40% since 2007 while rental rates have increased.”
