BackYard Tiki Bars are a great thing to have if you are into entertaining. I put one up next to my pool and it cost less than $2000 when it was all said and done. I ordered plans online and had it up within a week. Very simple, fun, unique thing for the backyard.
People love the tikin bar more than the pool that cost more than 10 times as much...who woulda thought that.

Please allow this comment my intent is to help not bash the project. This could be a fun DIY project and the aesthetics of the Tiki Bar is fine but the structural members supporting the roof is of concern. The horizontal members in images 4-13 thru 6-13 should extend over the vertical support columns. The steel L brackets are utilized in shear as load bearing components for which they are not designed. This connection can fail and possibly cause personal injury. If you don’t understand my concern please consult a structural engineer before constructing anything which could potentially cause injury particularly overhead loads. Please bring this to the attention of the owner of the project in these images.

Anybody can stick a couple of tiki torches around the back deck to add a little island feel to the backyard and help keep away the bugs. Creating the look and feel of an actual tiki bar requires a little more effort and ingenuity--and it can be accomplished at a very reasonable cost. Create an attractive and functional outdoor haven for special occasions or just relaxing evenings with the family.

You can even customize your "build a tiki bar" search phrase to include specifics like the thatching for the roof, or where to find the best bamboo for your tiki bar. The most fun of all though, is decorating the tiki bar with the island swag that will give your backyard bar-b-ques that authentic luau feel and make your friends and family kick back, relax and have a great time.

How, you might ask, can this scene become your backyard oasis for the upcoming summer months? It's easy, just follow a few simple directions telling you how to build a tiki bar and the Saturday nights -- and Fridays, too, for that matter -- can belong to the good times and great memories created by hanging out with your friends and family.
