I got the apt in rent for $550 per month.
Two bedroom, one bath, 882 square feet. Breakfast bar, wall-to-wall closets, separate dining room, in-building laundry room. I used craigslist and found this.Open-mouthed

My husband used to make 50,000 a year. I was a stay at home mom. He got laid off and finally got a restaurant job that pays him 1/4 of what he used to make. I work now to help. The income will never roll in as it used to, it seems. We have  a two bedroom, small home that we are renting. It needs some work.  They include the trash and water in with the rent. Its usually about 850.00 a month!! And we still have to pay elec, which runs about 250.00 monthly. Theres 1100.00 a month already!! We still have to buy groceries, clothes for our growing boys, gas, maintenace on the vehicles. We can never get ahead with the cost of rent!!

I am a 48 yo "X".  Was married when I was 16 and I always had more money than sense but, Mr Bush took care of everything I owned. Lost my job, my house (we owned for 12 years) and last but not least my 33 year marriage but I've got my big girl panties on and am looking for something just like this.  Where some people see problems, I see potential.  I worked with my gen contractor brother for years and have the knowledge.  I hope that the person who put this house on here reads this.  I had a 6 br that I turned into a boarding house to try to save mine, I just need a break.  I LOVE THIS HOUSE  Detroit-500./5000.

Not to beat a dead-horse here....but again, why doesn't anyone / anywhere...local, state or good-riddance, federal gov't come up with a plan to house or shelter (with dignity) our indigent-unemployed or under-employed  at a modest-meager rate.  That just might be a stimulus we could believe-in!  How many untold million's are out of work (and for quite some time) and won't ever be able to return to any form of work.  If you do get a job at a greasy-spoon...you'll be under-employed with couintleess job's already taken by illegal's over the last twenty-plus year's.  What the....? and where has the INS been for two-plus decade's.  The whole gov't (all form's, dept's) is some sort of non-defined welfare program...we (the common slob's) will serve our elected (blue-blood want-to-be / pedigree) cronie's (show me a politician and I'll show you a crook) until we go to the grave...you won't have their salarie's, pension's, benefit's and life as they know it (their sense of entitlement) ever...

I currently rent a large 2BR/1BA apartment in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for just $520 plus electric (which, for a single girl working 50+ hours per week adds up to just about $20/mo).  Of course, you're getting a discount for the inconvenience of living in a boring, conservative Midwest state, but it's only about three hours' drive from the Twin Cities, so it's bearable.  The state offers affordable tuition on top of its super-cheap rent, so it's the ideal spot for college students going for general degrees.

You *can* get an apartment in Austin for 5 bills or less, but you won't like the neighborhood (or the complex,I'll wager). I've been renting a room from a retiree for the past 7+ years...nice house in an older, quiet South Austin neighborhood, complete with a Schnauzer, for $00 + half the bills. I thought about moving out & trying to find a place of my own, but for what I pay, I wouldn't find anything near as nice as what I've got now. No one thumping the walls all night long...no lease...off-street parking in the driveway...my own yard, washer/dryer, large shaded deck...I'd be crazy to move.

I don't think you can get an apt for under $600 in Anch AK at least anything that could be called decent. My last apt i was paying $800 for a 350 sq ft studio with no special ammenities that would only be moderately nice in the lower 48.
