Geez. I've always wanted an over-head cover to the entrance of the front door such as seen in house #11.  We were having a home (much, much smaller) built with this addition, but the builders made the space between the posts and the house too small!  (could walk throught only)!  Forfeited the buy.  Well, I got to pick out a few parts for the interior that I hope the buyer likes!  Needless to say:  We're still here in the same house and been here 51 years!!

I thought  for the most part this article was useless.  All it did was primarily reminded me of the fact that our home has gone down in value nearly 50% and prices are still plummeting.  It reminds me that Wall Street brought  and the Big Banks nearly brought this country down economically , but the Obama administration had not brought charges against any of the CEO's and other Wall Street types responsible.  Even though Main Street continues to hurt financially, thanks to Main Street, the Big Bank and Wall Street are doing very well, thank you, with CEO's continuing to reap hugh bonuses.  In the meantime Main Street is hanging on my just a thread.

Condos, townhouses, etc. don't count as houses.

And given that this is a condo, the price is not cheap. $150k is high for what amounts to being nothing more than an apartment.

This should not be in the list since you don't get the yard the article is talking about.

Bank of America foreclosed on the duplex I am renting. With the help of my father, we got the financing together to purchase the duplex, but B of A would rather make me and my 2 kids homeless than allow me to purchase the place. Apparently, B of A has an unwritten rule that they WILL NOT sell to tenants or relatives of tenants. The suck part is, we made an offer to the previous owner and our offer was accepted, but B of A foreclosed anyway (bought it in short sale). We put in another offer to buy the place and that offer was ignored. As far as I'm concerned, Bank of Corporate Greed needs to be taken down.

I live in Florida and must move because mining operation is opening up next door.  I should have bought months sooner when inexpensive houses were plentiful.  In May when I started looking again I found houses that sold 2 months ago to investors and are now being resold for 25% more.

Houses that were listed are now being taken off market and relisted for much more.  Only houses left are either 30yr old or in crime neighborhoods. There is another housing bubble in Florida.

Anyone else notice these were all far from civilization? Florida? Alabama? Really? Tennessee? Missouri? Seriously? I'll give you Ohio, that's at least in the North, but the rest make no sense at all. Of course they're a buck-fitty...nobody wants to live there, because there are no professional-pay jobs there.

Which is why despite all the republicarping, houses here in California, or across the nation in Chicago or the Northeast, cost more. Because they';re worth it.

They should rent out empty homes with an option to buy,the ones that sit empty get destroyed by meth heads, and copper thieves.

We checked out several Florida beach condos last summer.  The catch is the Association dues, insurance and taxes for land this close to the beach.  They're double or triple your monthly payment.  We were excited to see the properties until we found that extra $1000 plus per month put it far beyond our reach.

OK, so these are great deals.  But who wants to live in those communities?  And where would I find work?  No, thanks.

CaseyZjr2, I promise things will get better. This is not the end. Put your faith in God. Please give your worries over to him. Worrying today will not save you from tomorrow. If it's not okay, then its not the end. I promise. Keep your head up, shoulders back and a smile on your face. And Good luck.

I have read and researched for what is going on where I call home, Las Vegas Nevada. No I have never gambled love a nice home and nice car and the only gamble I take is driving, riding my bike, working or crossing the street GOD that's enough I thought.

Forced to take a Family Emergency Medical Leave from my employer since 3-1-12 and trying for close to 3 years with an attorney who just took my moneys of 7000$ and no results. I am for one year now dealing with bank and feeling like I may be the next Foreclosure Scary.

My wife of 45 years October 23 this year is continuing to battle the GOD awful Cancer and I am trying to keep all of this from her Emmm!

I never in my life thought I would be in this predicament; homes are worth less than half-- of what one paid for them foreclosures in my area VERY HIGH, Damn I Just Want To Go To Sleep, Not Wake Up.

Understand me Please No Greed, Not Trying To Impress Family, Friends or Anyone Just Watching Our Last Home Of Which We Worked So Hard For Trading Up To My Present Home and May Have To Walk Away Just Kills Me REALLY KILLS ME.

Thank You All For Reading, and Again Been Working Since I was 9 Years Old Served My Country 6 Years and Always Working AND Being A Problem Solver and Not A Problem Maker, Till Now AND I Am So Overwhelmed.

Bless You All

Looking houses 5 and 6... I really hate that prominent garage style. If the garage is the first thing I notice in a house, I'm definately not a buyer at any price.

A short sale can be listed at any price, the seller is losing their shirt anyways, so they don't care. What the house actually sells for is based on what the lein holder is willing to let it go for. This usually depends on the appraised value, which is usually MORE than the listed price.

The major problem is that home prices have been jacked way the "F" up over the years, jacked up faster than most people's incomes that most people cannot afford the price of the home or the loan to pay for it.  The 3 bedroom suburban Conneticut home with 3 acres of orchard land I grew up in and my parents purchased for $14,000 in the mid 1960's now costs over $2 million.  This jacking of the prices has screwed most Americans while at the same time has made the banks billions of dollars.  What the banks don't get from the buyers, they get from the government paid to them with our tax dollars.  This whole situation, except for the few who can purchase a home outright with no bank help, has nearly become a lose/lose situation for both buyer and seller and a complete win/win for the banks.  They either come out with our money, or if we fail in our payments, they get some/most of our money, plus government money and the property to re-sell.

See!!!! That's what I'm talking about. Homes that you can find for a nice price in gorgeous cities & towns. Some of them might need some TLC if you want that low-low price (Lol!),but for the homes that are in great shape (and alot are Brand New) and under $150,000..Dude you can't go wrong!! I guess the only thing left is to ask yourself: "can you relocate if that's the only way to get to these low priced Great homes?"  You already O's is say'n "Hell Yeah!!!!" We got Palm Trees in my are sights!  Lmao!!
