Just a tad disappointed in the article.  The structure is cute but I didn't quite see any great space saving ideas.  Clothes storage could be a problem here.  Lot's of stuff not addressed.

I'm a minimalist and consider myself an expert in the field. There is not one thing special, different or interesting about this crap. How does a table save space. I was expecting a lot more from this article. Portable flower beds? BFD.

Um, no.  These ideas are from a 1970s Ikea catalogue.  I was expecting something new and innovative.  There are plenty of websites like the tiny house blog or even military-style "bug out" blogs (I hope I have the term right) that help you organize your necessities and utilize space in the most efficient way possible.  Although I'm not a survivalist or bunker person, these sites are helpful for people who have a boat or a camper, or even a tiny apartment.
The shelf/bench with the bonsai trees is an obvious waste of space, not to mention it looks like it was slapped together by a 10-year-old.

A $3000 shelf that looks like Ikea made it for a kid's playroom?? $2100 for a painted picnic table?? Scout Regalia, whoever they are, must be for people who don't know any better. For less than the money that was spent here, you could hire a professional woodworker and get something real nice that's custom made.

I'm no pro and I've built nicer stuff in a weekend....save a few thousand bucks and go to a home center and get a few sheets of birch plywood and a circular saw if you don't already have one.

P.S. That "daybed" looks suspiciously like a futon.

Ugly furniture and doesn't do any more to add space than we have in our little 1.000 ft main level home.  Items under beds, headboards that store items, shelving and so forth have been around as long as we have had electricity.  What a waste of everyone's time.

You know what would be cool on the backrest/headboard for the bed - drawers that pull out from the side instead of by the head of the bed, you could even attach a shelf to the pull out drawer on the bottom for a built-in night stand.

Cool looking items but I could do most of these things myself for much less.  Thanks for the ideas though!

If those ideas are creative then I'm an absolute genius. I don't even know if they qualify as common sense. NOTHING new here.

Some good ideas, but I think they must have at least twice the room we have (appx 550s.f.)

$3000 for a single bookcase? And this is supposed to affordable for renters?

Not a smart couple, for the money they are wasting on cheap Ikea looking furniture, they probably could have invested in a better place where use of space is not an issue.

Sorry, they look like a real nice young couple... but those are not new ideas. My husband and I have done raised beds on concrete for years, and years.  Just so simple... do others not think of things like this... and do it themselves.  Nice to live in L.A. where it is warm and your table can be outside... nothing new about that. Sorry, just sayin.
